Must've been the Thompson twins and/or Captain Haddock??
And the book could've been "Black Gold".
Read them all in the childrens library in OM. Long time ago. 35 years??

Precisely my point George. Factor in all the costs and inflation etc and what price will you get in today's money to do the same trip? I doubt you would find it financially viable to do the trip.

As at this morning, the cost per barrel of crude has dropped but the government and the fuel companies still maintain high prices. Just proves how we are all being ripped off by the demands of oil company and the refiners' shareholders to return a profit for subsequent increased dividend and also the greedy Exchequer at Number 11 Downing St has not signalled a decrease in the 66% tax they levy per litre.

Shame on them all.

The poor get poorer and those b****rds just keep getting richer and our roads remain the worst in Europe and are really a national discgrace. How can the rest of Europe keep their infrastructures so well maintained while this government expects us to fork out more and more money to them for....what? Death by virus in unclean hospitals, rising unemployment, starving pensioners etc etc etc etc.

Villefranche Sur Mer is calling me loudly! I think it is time to pack up and leave England.
