Remember, we dated a bit in 1970 but aren't really speaking now. It's complicated.

Anyway, to some of those buggers, a guy like you would definitely be classified as pretty... :D

Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Michael Alexander

You more than likely finished that bottle of whiskey of mine... and now everyone looks "pretty" to you......  :o

The one and only ... Rustenburg Girls High ...! Felt like I was in prison for 5 years thanks to the bars on my cubicle window.  >:( Went back to visit the place since and it's almost homely now.

We (my sister Debbie and myself) went to la Rochelle Girls High School unfortunetly only for one year then the last 4 years of our high school career was in Eric Louw High School (yes it was as bad as what it sounds)

Wrong, Mike!  I went to Springbok - and got called Soutie just because I could introduce myself in some understandable manner in English.  Never got to fly, but we did have some good times travelling in the krok-trokke of Aggenbag's Busdienste.  A lot of the Alexanderbay kids also went to Springbok and I cannot mention the nicknames on this site that was given to some of them - ..........  Was'nt as bad as you might think it was - we actually were able to obtain matric certificates as well.  A few characters also emerged from there:  a guy called Kobus Ali later starred in one of those old black and white photo story books - (the likes of Ruiter in Swart en Grensvegter).  Zak van Niekerk - the Afrikaans boytjie who makes a lot of money with his bekfluit and typical Afrikaans songs - he's also a product of Springbok.  Mariaan van Rooyen, as well as her sister Susan also attended Namaqualand High and so did Amor Aggenbach (the daughter of Freddie and Wilma Aggenbach).

I don't think we old Springbokkers turned out to shabby!?
Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier. Friendship is a sheltering tree.

To be clever enough to get a great deal of money, one must be stupid enough to want it.

Those who bring sunshine to the lives of other cannot keep it from themselves.

For my sins I was at Rustenburg Girls High 82 - 86.  I am surprised to see only 1 other Rustybug - Patricia.  There were 16 of us there when I was in Std 6.

Michael Alexander
