In all honesty its a fair comment that Aunty Diana makes, however this problem arises due to three reasons...

1) The person who starts the second topic is a newbie and does not know that the topic was mentioned....

2) The original topic ...went off topic.... we started talking about Affenrucken and landed up talking about the mule Derby (just an example) that spans 3 or 4 pages.. it would look odd to add on after four pages.....

3) for some strange reason, the very old and dusty topics sometime disappear, Mike S and I were talking the other day about this and so far I cannot figure out where or why they went..... the case in mention being Bobbysmiths Cora's sarmies, the original.... can you find it, coz we can't....

,,,,, at the end of the day , the reposting of a "dead' topic is not a bad thing, and in the case of a newbie, it is up to the old timers to find the original and just paste the link into the new topic, the Admins can then merge the topics at a later stage.....

just my 2 cents...

but it's still fun....

I know what I saw.......talking of mouldy sandwhiches; when I was little and my mom used to give me my lunch.........uhm!......maybe I better not share that secret with ye........ahem!........nothing to see here guys. Let's pretend I wasn't even logged on tonight..............

Ok so you got sarmies with added natural pennecillin .. or  did you not eat your sarmies and hide them somewhere ?/ or ... // or ??/

I used to sometimes not eat mine and hide them away till I found them again .. eeuch!

Being the smallest in the family - I was always last to finish eating, and I couldn't leave the kitchen table until my plate was empty............on numerous occassions  - I wanted to go out or watch telly or just do something besides sitting alone at the table....and so I'd quietly come away from the table and scoot to the fridge, where I'd duck down and hide my half eaten sandwhich behind it...........It never entered my head that they would ever be found; needless to say one fine day the fridge broke down and was moved..........SURPRISE!!! yuk! yuk! yuk!

Whooo ! the invasion of the mould creatures .. they must have over run the house after being set free ..  worse than the Gremlins after 12 .. ??

I wouldn't say I was naughty - more on the mischievious side.......I enjoyed innocent fun - sure there was no real harm in it........until you got a tin of mixed fruit for dinner!!!

SandyB

better so dog food and meatballs ??  i remeber the one night i was making a nice curry .. and i had absentmindedly left the  Pamper beef and liver cat food on the kitchen surface as well .. absentmindedly dumped in the pamper instead of the butter beans .. had to leave it at that . as guests where waiting .. didnt taste bad at all  .. me just ahd small portion just in case .. everybody survived  and where none the wiser ..

image281 My dad and my aunty Vi made burgers out of tinned dog food and used grass as the garnish!!! Seemingly they invited a load of people for a braai - but didn't have enough meat.........

SandyB

Flo Worth was apparently also involved in that escapade as well ..

My father recounts that story at least once a year, apparently My Mom and Bernadette had so much laughter that they could not stop crying!
