I couldn't believe it when stumbling onto this site today. It seems that I didn't spend as much time on Oranjemund as the most other members on this site.
I was there from about 1968 and left in 1976 when I was in Std three.

Bertie Horak... Hoe gaan dit? Onthou jy my nog?

I am also in the first picture that was posted (The percussion band) allthough all that can be seen of me are my eyes and the top of my head sticking out behind the conducters left hand.

Ever since we left Oranjemund in 76, I've lived in Cape Town (Northern Subs) and only moved to Velddrif the beginning of May 2008. Couldn't stand the city anymore. My wife and kids are still Cape Town. I travel there evey weekend and they'll be joining me beginning of December.

@ Sigmund - Damn, you're going to make Georg very happy! Hope you have a lot of time on your hands this weekend, there's a lot of memories and photo's to work through. Believe me, when I discovered the site about 2 months ago, my life changed. Great experience with great friends! Almost like going home after a long absence.
