Gee! What a bombshell in British politics..... Just when i thought African politics was corrupt...along come the British, all parties involved.... screwing their own people , claiming expenses for Dogfood and Lightbulbs..... just watch Skynews...what a disgrace..... these are the same politicians that point the finger of corruption at African leaders..... I feel like bursting into a line of "bring me My Machine gun!'

Why the British public are not on the streets en masse protesting at that lot in Westminister is besides me.....

Interesting thought ... forgot who posted  it  but the expression  of giving  power and money to  politicians is like giving  whiskey and  the car keys to  a teenage boy ..  again its no checks and balances .. nothing beats our ex speaker and  short term deputy presidents  1.8 mil a year plus all the trappings  pension  for life   , and that for sulking, so they golden handshake her instead ,, inprivate sector  you  get what you put in and  intereset  and  what your company  thinks they owe  you if you get all sulky and leave ? Now  compare  that  to the  +- 1000  a month  social grant they give ???

Politicians, no matter what colour or creed, are all the same..... perhaps Ghandi would be the exception to that statement....

Cheating is cheating. You're making a point there Mike.
But I think there's a difference in getting free dogfood and lightbulbs in a rich country in which a relitavie wealth is normal, and stealing millions and putting the money in forign banks when the own country suffers deceases and starvation.
And yet. We should all be aware of what happens EVERYWHERE in the world.
Start cleaning your street. Cleaning your (or mine, makes no diffs.) street also means checking what buisenes your country does with others. For eg Zimbabwe. You know what I'm talking about.

over the last few years I have heard of how corrupt the ANC igoverment is in SA ,and its a tag it richly deserves    but we must not forget the "Botha and De klerk " goverments were also corrupt the only difference is we were snookered in to believe these smucks and they were just very good at hiding it    ,anyone remember the Ruddie scandal in the 70`s  ( hopefully I have spelt his name right )

Oh yes  there  is no denying the " previous regime "  had its fair share of corruption .. and yes  information did not flow as well  as  it  does nowadays ..  and   protest  was  risky ..  but   there  really  seems to be a rot  here now  , the expression  they learnt well  from their predecessors  and have now  bettered them at the game of  coruption  and squandering   definitely applies ...

This is an interesting topic and this is just the beginning

I believe everyone has a price at which he will steal, cheat or just do something he knows is not right, I dare you all to deny this. 
The question is how deep does this go and for how long.

Anyway this is a thumbs up to the transparency of the system.  Trust a politician to write a cheque to clear his name.  There is talk about criminal investigation today.
 
Unlike in some other countries where the source of a story like this would have been silenced, either by death, imprisonment or a price.
At least here in the stiff lipped British way, they take it on the chin and admit they did wrong and attempt to win back the vote.
Interesting times, it's all in tatters.
There is noone and not one party that is going to look good after all the beans have been spilt.
The public are spitting mad, Michael just because they are not rampaging on the pavements doesn't mean they don't care.

Great to hear from you Barbs..... my dad and myself are onto the SKYnews everyday following this topic..... it's amazing how little shame these politicians have,.... and I love the way the Daily telegraph is letting a little bit out each day.... making a lot of politicians nervous......

interesting choice you made Mother Theresa - I think if you do some research you will find critics about her work
she is accused of not caring so much for the poor but for the spread of Catholicism.
There are also question about the source of some of the donations received (fraud) and also the manner in which she chose to spend it..........

anyway don't get me started on the Catholic church.
