Bee following this tale online, where the Muslim right want to march through Woottoom Bassett in honour of fallen Al Quada fighters, much to the disgust of the English population...hast the UK become to liberal?

ANyhow, reading comments online....and I liked this one:

"his may be a 'web-wonder' but seems genuine, interesting stance???
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves in ENGLAND, We will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

I reckon those people who thought Enoch Powell was wrong with his straightforward thinking on UK in the 60's & 70's are now wishing they supported him when he needed it.

All you have to do is see how easy the UK goverment of the day (Labour or Tory) give into so called Human Rights and immigrants. What about the poor Brits and their rights. What the UK needs now is another Enoch Powell and I'm sure he would get plenty of support

As for the Muslims wanting to march through Wotton Basset to "Salute" the fallen opposition abroad is a total insult to any true British Citizen.........

Victor  currently in Saudi .. Jeddah ...  to all extents  other  religions are not allowed to practice openly , cannot wear  crucifix etc ,, no  churches  alowed to be built ... now thats intolerance ..  yet expect total tolerance in any country in which they settle ...  the swiss were right in banning the building of minarets ,,,   not going to go too deeply  into this  for  fear of appearing intolerant as well but yes they should put the  shoe on the other foot and  see....

Don't get me started on this subject ... it will just get me deported. The UAE allows other religions. You can buy and wear crucifixes everywhere. But the churches here may not have crosses anywhere on the outside or church bells. So why would we allow them to build minarets in our country? I'm so proud that France banned the burkini ... yet insulted that the woman who started the whole debat was a French woman who converted ...! Ok, time to stop there as the men in white could be watching ...!

Hey guys relax. Why discuss this with the same hot head SOME Muslima do. Who's it going to help.
If you're woried about licenses with pics you can't recognise on, then solve that problem. You know what your rights are. But expecting the Muslima to go "home".... tsetsetse...
The same attitude of the Nazis in the 30s. Who's it going to help.
If a country forbids crosses on a church, what's it got to do with the plea for minarets of more liberal Muslimas in Europe.
Liberalism is a matter of learning togethether. Rome wasn't built in one day.
Nothing special. Just some clips I put in youtube.de

I think it's about tolerance and having the ability to respect one another's cultures, even learning from others... however on both sides of the fence, we tend to have the radical elements.... and those are the people that I have no respect  for others and live life with blinkers on..........

I respect other peoples religions etc........but I do feel that religion is the
base for 99% of wars !!! and also when in another country one should respect
said country rules and laws......and also not take the piss out of adopted country!!!

Sorry Pam,
I guess I have to side with George and Mike on this one. Before we object to other people's prejudice we have to make sure we are not guilty of the same failing. The labeling of large groups of people because of the remarks or behavior of a few is an extreme form of prejudice.
George nailed it when he pointed out that because one country, which happens to be Muslim, objects to external signs on churches it has no bearing on how we should conduct our own culture. Nor should we condemn all Muslim countries for such bigotry. The Muslim faith is not monolithic, it is as divided and sectarian as Christianity and perhaps even more so. Where we have Catholics and Protestants (and all those divisions of Protestantism) it has – apart from the main divisions of Sunni and Shia - some two dozen others and even these have sub-categories.
Few of these agree with each other. Some are as radical as even the most scary of Christian sects and it is of these we hear most. Most Muslims are law-abiding, hard-working, tax-paying citizens of whatever country they live in. The Malay community in Cape Town is an example. Seldom will you find them in the magistrates courts or the jail system.
There are a few sub-categories of Christianity which should frighten us more. In fact Christian terrorism has held the world in fear for centuries. Not long ago we burned people at the stake for disagreeing with the Pope. In the 12th century the Crusaders slaughtered and marauded around the Middle East in the name of Christianity. The same nice people invented genocide e.g. the Huguenot and Jewish pograms, the slaughter of native American Indians, the hunting down and killing of Australian Aborigines. Need I go on? I've got a lot more where that came from.
I hate to labour the point here but the reality is that our prejudices do not make us free. They enslave us. And to pass such prejudices on to our children also places the manacles on their hands too. It makes them willing tools of the warmongers who for generations now have marched them away in the thousands and millions to die uselessly on some foreign field.
We should be faithful to our heritage of freedom, part of which is to allow freedom to others.  We have adequate common law to protect us, no need to take to the streets for a minaret or two; the town planning act will sort that out (and might even save us from an ugly tower block or two).
Regards,
Bob.
