The best greek food I have ever had has got to be at Sloppy Sam's. The most divine greek lamb and cooked by an Iranian nogal! Beginning of Sea Point or Three Anchor Bay, Main Road. Not only because its owned by an ex Omunder but also because it is such a quaint looking building and the atmosphere is very cosmopolitan.

The road is called Glenngarrith Road.....

For the pasta fans :  there's a place in Mellville, Jo'Burg called Spiros.  Best pasta you will ever eat.  Not a big place, but always packed and sometimes you have to wait for a table.  Just oppisite the street is a cocktail bar called Rats -believe me, you name it and they make it, but EINA!!!  -- the headache the following morning.........

... then it's a good thing that the Aunty has a horse to take her home afterwards.........   :emot186:

For that type of babbelaas head you need a wagon and 12 oxen  -  a poor horse will never make it

In the eye of the beholder..........   now that would be my scale, and it hasn't been used for ages, so it can't see anything and tell lies to me or anyone else.

For some strange reason, after the holidays, I get the feeling that I am a ballerina  -  all pants and jeans fit like those pink tights!

Nah Mike, I think Glengarith goes up from Main Road to High Level.  There was a pizza joint, Nero's I think on the corner of Glengarith and Main.  A chemist was on the opposite corner.  Then again I could be wrong too. Capetonians??

I went to school at CBC in Greenpoint and often used to walk into Seapoint from hostel to go to Adelphi Outfitters for school togs. I always remember that Once you had crossed Glengarith (cannot remember how to spell) , then you had left Three Anchor bay/Greenpoint end entered Sea Point. You are right Gelngarith goes right up past the old age home at the actual bay of three anchor , right up to high level road. And like you said there is the Glengarith Pharmacy on the corner at the robots..... but then this was 20 years ago....... come to think about it, the other times I was not on school business going into Seapoint, I was always trashed..... must be the area.....

Shame for no beer (good for you - at least you will be able to smile in the morning).

I got the "Bees" rib strips out  -  made a nice curry sause, like for sosaties, and kept them in there for about a week. In the oven now:  some fresh bread.  Made some fresh butter this morning and got a bottle of hame made apricot jam from a friend.  Just got to grate the cheese and make a fresh green salad, then (I think) we're ok for this evening.

Also got a whole leg of lamb, stuffed with mushrooms, onions, garlic and I also let that all lie in a marinade for about 3 days  -  that's going on the braai tomorrow with all the other traditional boere kos  -  sweet potatoes, cooked with caramel syrup, green beans with cream added, wild brown rice with small pieces of sun dried tomatoes and some fresh herbs from the garden, and then the sauce for the rice (kids just love that), for salad a cucumber ring set with greengage jelly and for pudding I am making a frozen peach & nut home made ice cream thing.  (I got the cream and the machine to make the ice cream with and the ice machine, so no trouble to do that).  Got some friends coming over for a belated birthday celebration (hope they bring great prezzies, 'cos I'm actually going to lay the table and add a flower arrangement or two as well - very rare for me to do this).

Fantastic Michael. It's just a matter of habit. Either this way or the other way.
I kicked smoking 20 years ago. Fantastic experiance. I used to smoke Goulios without filter. Double the Nicotin and dirt other fags have. 30 a day. I was sure to be addicted for life. It's over and done with....
