When  the  try at the  Taters on the Braai ?? or are  you  scared  of the amount of  salt  ?? like I said  most of it goes  down  the  sink  back  to  the  ocean .. only  whats  necessary sticks to the  taters  and is  a  fraction of  what  exists  in  crisps and biltong ....

Sandy, funny enough when I made the pot yesterday I thought of you and those tatters..... I will make an effort in the next 2 weeks to make them and photograph them....

Never mind Sandy's tatters.   Just got back from my pub crawl (all of 2 pubs) Michael you'd be proud of me managed 4 Windhoek drafts with a dash of lime. You and Barbara had to share one, as I couldn't get the last one down. Still standing and getting a fire ready to braai now. Feeling really good about the day.

Lager and  lime  used  to be  one of  my  favourites  that I  still revisit  every now  and  again .. people look at  you  strangely when  you  ask  for it  nowadays ...  thenn again they  just  dont  know  how  darn refreshing  it  is ...... I see  you  raised  a  few  to  Fred  good  on  you Girl ....

Good on you girl!, keep practicing and one day you will grow to be big and strong like Uncle Mike..... Hehehe!, great stuff, hope you enjoyed it... Outta curiosity, how much did one draught cost, glass or tin?

I was keen to braai today, I have some steak in the freezer and the weather is like Windhoek Weather....

Came out of a machine into a long glass R12.00 but got it for R9.00 pensioner price as I told them my dad was paying.
Did enjoy them, yes great stuff ,but fills me up to much. Oh yes ,didn't crack the seal manage to get home before I went to the loo. Very important I believe.

About three times a year I have reason to have a draught machine at my braai, I buy it through SPAR and get it at cost price.... a 30 LT barrel goes for N$320..... which works out to about 5.50 give or take..... the only downside is that you have to consume the entire barrel within 3 days...... not really a downside come to think off it...

I must say thanks to Mike for the lekker chicken potjie (translation = delicious chicken casserole) that he made on the fire yesterday! There was enough left over for lunch and supper for me today!

Love Pea and Ham soup.
WEll today i was spoilt and took Bjorn to the farmers market where he bought a rolled Lamb. it was beautifully cooked and his girlfriend made rhubarb and apple pie. I enjoy Bjorn being home as i dont have to do any cooking and get 5 star restuarant food. Will miss him when he goes to India
